Food!

It's so expensive and I don't even know where to start!  So we are thinking a pot luck because we can't afford catering.  I don't even know how that will work for a party of this size.  Does anyone want to volunteer to bring anything?  Planning a wedding is super stressful.  I'm going to see the coordinator of the venue on Saturday hopefully she'll have some good ideas.

Elinor's Wedding Party

I figure it's time to update this.  We have picked our wedding party for the most part.  I will start with mine.

Man of Honor - Mitchell Armstrong.
I have known Mitchell since I was in 3rd grade and he was in 2nd.  We have been close friends for many years and have been through a lot together.  Including having the same first car.  His first car was the Pontiac Grand Am that I bought from him 6 years ago.  I still drive that car today.  We used to get up at five in the morning just to go to choir together.  He is now attending CWU with a major in music.  I'm very honored that he will stand next to me when I get married

Bridesmaid - Elizabeth Neef
Of course, the person who is the closest to me, and at one point was me!  My twin sister.  We have shared everything growing up.  Friends, toys, birthdays, but on June 23 it's going to be my day.  I'm so happy to share this with my sister and to go dress shopping with her.  Elizabeth is an awesome baker at Safeway and I wish she could make my wedding cake.  But she'll have other things to worry about.

Bridesmaid - Tami Quinn
Tami and I met in Job Corps when I was training to be a Pharmacy Technitian. We shared a room and became fast friends.  After Job Corps we remained friends and spend most holiday’s together. She lives with her family in Moses Lake, WA and is a stay at home mom.

Bridesmaid – Tia Goodnight
An army wife, Tia is a friend I’ve hade since 2002.  We've shared many laughs and woes. She was the first friend I made when I moved to Soap Lake. It was Tia that suggested I date David and she’s regretted it ever since.  But it all turned out because I’m going to marry him and live happily ever after.  At least we hope so.  Tia, thanks for asking me if I wanted to go out with David, because he was too scared to ask for himself.

Bridesmaid – Melissa Smith
Melissa has been one of my closest friends since I moved to Soap Lake.  We went to high school together. She’s now an In-home caregiver and takes care of her 2 younger siblings with her father in. She lives in Soap Lake, WA.

Bridesmaid – Megan Thrapp
Megan is also a friend from Soap Lake.  I’ve known her since I was a sophomore and we’ve been friends ever since.  Megan is the youngest in my bridal party and is the wedding dress expert.  Maybe she’ll be able to share some tips on buying my wedding dress.

David has picked his party but I don't know much about them.  I will have to have him help me write something about his groomsmen.

Save the Dates are going to be mailed out soon so look for them in the mail!

50's theme wedding!

We're going to have a 50's theme wedding.  Old cars and old music!  I was thinking poodle skirts for the wedding.  What do you think?  I've tried to find 50's style dresses online and it's hard!  I've got some pretty fun idea's for the wedding and I can't wait!

David and I have started on a diet on Monday.  We are juice fasting.  I know it sounds crazy but it really works.  We've been on it since Monday and David has lost 15 pounds and I have lost 7 pounds.  We are excited to be able to go clothes shopping when we reach our goal weight.

I need to get my save the date's out and start looking for dresses.  I also need to pick my brides maids and ask them if they want to do it.

With love,

Elinor Neef

So much to do!

So we have the venue.  We have to find a photographer, caterer, and an officiant.  We think we will have David's cousin be the officiant.  I haven't been doing much lately for the wedding.  Not sure what I should do next.  I wanted to do the save the Date cards but I want to have my ring so we can take pictures to send with them.  My ring is back at the jewelers.  It lost a stone when I had it for one day.  It's warrantied so they're fixing it for free.

It's David's birthday today.  He's 26 now.  I'll be 25 in December.

We decided on a theme for the wedding.  We're doing a 50's theme.  Classic cars and old music!  We have at least 3 classic cars coming to the wedding.  It will be exciting.  I've been playing around with some Idea's for the centerpieces.  I'll post some pics when I get a test one made.

I don't have much else right now, Just excited!  I am collecting addresses right now for the invitations.  So send me your addresses!

He finally asked me!

David and I have been together for 6 years now.  He finally asked me and I can't be more happy about it.  Now it's time to do the hard work of planning a wedding next June.  As with most guys all the help I get from David is him saying, "do what you like."  So that leaves everything to me.  The only thing he does have an opinion on is the food.  Of course.  So that's his job.  What food we will have at the wedding.

Like most people when they get married we have no idea what we are doing.  I figure you need a budget first and a venue, then all the details you have until the wedding to figure out.  So I made my budget and went on the search for a place.  I tell you it's hard to look on the Internet for a site.  Not much came up.  We thought about having it at Soap Lake, Ephrata, Moses Lake, or Leavenworth.

I was not expecting how much it would cost to rent a place!  I was looking at up to 8000 just for the rental with chairs and tables, yikes!  So we finally decided on Jamison's in Moses Lake.  Affordable, beautiful, and comes with a wedding planner who does all the work for you!  Can it get any better?  They also have a sound system so I can play music off my iPod and save money on a DJ!

So now we are working on a guest list and who will be in the wedding party.  Save the Date's will come soon.  And we have to take pictures as soon as I get the ring back from the jewelers.  David and I have also started on a diet and we're thinking about getting a membership to a gym.  We both could loose a few pounds (or a lot!) and we want to look our best at our wedding.

So this is were I will keep everyone updated on what's going on with the wedding.  If anyone has any tips and suggestions just leave a comment or send me an email.  And thank you for your support and love!
